Happy holidays! New Years is still coming up. I had a good Christmas, better than last years which felt just like any other day. I woke up to help my mom with breakfast, opened presents and had Thai for dinner at a relatives house. Here's a picture of me wearing berries and ribbon in my hair. (being all festive)

I can't wait to make up my New Years resolutions, something I started doing only this year. I tried to set manageable goals that helped me feel as though I actually accomplished something during the year.

Alone but not quite lonely.

So I'm currently working on a piece  called Alone, but not quite lonely, It's actually my final for Drawing II. It still remains unfinished but I'm getting closer and closer to finishing it. I was hoping it'd be done by now but it's not so I'm posting a WIP. Here's a picture of the frame that goes around it.

This is too cute.

I had to post this. My dogs have been dangerously close to knocking the tree over a couple times. (Okay maybe not 'dangerously" but I threw that in for dramatic flair.)

Just a little update.

 I've been spring cleaning although it's winter. Not only have I been cleaning and organizing physically but mentally as well. I think it's time that I've taken this blog into a different direction. Next year I plan on giving each of my posts a bit more meaning and a bit more personalization. I want to work on my honey page better than I have been and try and change this blog into a more grown up version of myself.

I threw up and a rainbow came out.

So I tried uploading some pictures off my camera at school and was slightly successful. They have a horrible editing program though so these will be somewhat worse than what I have been posting.

This was some spilled oil I noticed on a beautiful rainy day this week while walking home. (These pictures aren't actually that bad, it's my artwork that has been affected the worst.)

Please be patient . . . again.

It seems that someone in my household has gotten hold of the computer and has somehow damaged it beyond comprehension. Therefore, I can not upload any photos as of now until the situation is fixed. Sorry.

P. S. I may try uploading some on the school computer, so all hope is not lost!

Portfolio Day

I just attended the National Portfolio Day at the Marriott hotel here in Albuquerque yesterday. I got to see School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design, and Rhode Island School of Design. I was in line for the Minneapolis College of Art and Design when I found out that there was only fifteen minutes left, thankfully I was able to leave my information. Anybody who's thinking about going to an art school should go to this event. Look it up.

These are my new purple "Grape" Doc Martens(fresh out of the box). I actually got them awhile ago, they've been in their box for more than a month. I still haven't worn them yet. I'm really weird with wearing new stuff that I love.

Snow day. We got a little bit of snow this morning, which for New Mexico is quite a bit. So no school for me, just hot cocoa, decorating, leopard slippers and working on school stuff. (which I should probably be doing right now.)

Lady Gagas Marry The Night: The Prelude Pathetique 

I just watched this video recently and I love it. I think Gaga should make short artsy videos like this all the time. They really give me inspiration, like a scene from a movie but containing the content of the whole movie and still leaving questions unanswered. I also loved her Pop Ate My Heart video. Does anyone know of any short clips like this by different people?



Here today, gone tomorrow.

So today was horrible yet exciting at the same time. The wind was dreadful, any stronger and it'd be a tornado. I was on my way to class when all of a sudden a gust of wind hit me, my portfolio went open and all my artwork for the past few months went flying away. I had to quickly grab what I could and sit on my portfolio to put the pieces inside and close it. Three other people who had chased some of my things down brought them over to me and helped me put them inside and two administrators helped me also, not only with capturing my art but finding new clips to put on my portfolio. I was fighting back the tears the whole time, I would've had a breakdown if nobody helped. So, thank you very much administrative faculty of the SRC at CNM.

On second note, when I arrived home, late, I found out that I received my order from Blick of a new portfolio. It's absolutely beautiful and got here several days before expected. I highly recommend them for any art supplies.
