Show me your teeth.

Hyperdontia is the condition of having supernumerary teeth, or teeth which appear in addition to the regular number of teeth.
I find this beautiful and vastly interesting.
Sorry I haven't really been keeping up too much with my resolution, to be more active on here with better posts. January just hasn't been the month for me.

Rain, rain, please don't go away.

So it rained today, or more accurately, this morning. I enjoy rain so much, I truly do. I wish it had rained all day, it's so beautiful. My dog Sassy brought me a little present this morning, a dead bird. I'm a little weary about performing taxidermy right now so I thought instead I'll give a go at maceration. Hopefully my little bird skeleton comes out okay.

In other words, things haven't been going so great. I'm really stressed about everything and on top of it all the advisor I saw messed up part of my schedule, so I had to change it. By the time I did I could only find a night class available, so three classes on Mon/Wed and only one on Tues/Thurs. And the night class is 2 1/2 hours after my first two, so it's a lot of waiting around. Oh well, it'll be over in a couple of months. Enough with my small rant. Here's a picture of me today, all bundled and fabulous. : )

Burn your paper fingers in my ashtray.

I've been pretty busy these past few weeks. I'd really like to put more meaning into my posts but that may not be possible with school. I will post, however, some projects that I'm working on for my 3D design class.

Our first project was to make some sort of sculpture/picture out of paper. We were supposed to use one sheet of paper to make the whole piece, but I got confused by the way it was communicated. So I ended up using several sheets of paper.  I made a carousel, thought it'd be fitting considering my blog name, etc.

January 2012

As you can see it's not as elaborate as I could have, and wanted to, make it but I started it the day before it was due. I really need to start being a little more proactive. I should be doing my homework right now actually.

January 2012

Currently working on a birdcage, so be expecting that in a couple of weeks. Hope everyones' 2012 is going good so far. (Wish I could say the same for myself.)

New Year, new problems.

Happy late New Year! 2012 will not be the end of the world, I have too much to live for! I hope all of you enjoyed your New Years eve and day. I enjoyed mine, Italian dinner at my house with relatives including the most amazing white chocolate panna cotta with a pomegranate juice reduction and pomegranate seeds.

Here's a picture of Sassy sleeping New Years day away:

Resolutions never were a big deal to me really until 2011. I set manageable obtainable goals for myself and I've completed most of them successfully. Here are a few I'm sharing with you for this year:

Resolution #1. Write 1 1/2 pages in my journal every week.
Last year I wrote 1 full page and I just love looking back and reading everything, I thought this would be nice and maybe give more depth to my thoughts.

Resolution #2. Finish any/all unfinished art projects in my room.
I really need to do this and am planning to right away. I hate having unfinished stuff, especially pieces that have a lot of potential. so expect to see some high school work.

Resolution #3. Stay active and more personal on blogs.
I feel like people like personality from the blog they're following. Though I do want to stay somewhat professional because eventually I want an official website that's meant for my artwork.

Resolution #6. Get tongue pierced.
I know it doesn't seem like much of a goal but it's reachable and that's what's important about making goals. I've wanted mine pierced for over a year now and am planning on getting it done this spring or early summer.

Resolution#8. Draw and paint males!
I really really need to work on drawing guys. I think the reason why I draw more girls is because they're easier to incorporate into my style which is pretty feminine, I'm a girl myself and have been drawing girls forever, and girls are more curvy and organic where as guys are more angular. I don't know how to find that balance between curvy and feminine yet still masculine. most of the guys I try to draw turn out looking too feminine or too masculine.

Resolution #10. Create lots and lots of beautiful art, ideas, poetry, etc.
I just want to be very creative and try not to have an artists block this year, I get at least one every year and they're horrible. I want to think without limits and create beautiful pieces of art.

So those are some of my goals, I hope all of you set at least three small obtainable goals for yourselves. It makes you feel really good/accomplished when you look back at them at the end of the year.

Crazy Cat Lady

So victory! I've just finished my crazy cat lady painting that was meant to be my final for Drawing II. It's probably my current favorite piece. I spent a lot of time on this one, more than I usually do, so that may be part of it. I also used different colors and a more conceptualized background. Here it is.
Alone, but not quite lonely

And here's a closer image of the actual painting
