New Year, new problems.

Happy late New Year! 2012 will not be the end of the world, I have too much to live for! I hope all of you enjoyed your New Years eve and day. I enjoyed mine, Italian dinner at my house with relatives including the most amazing white chocolate panna cotta with a pomegranate juice reduction and pomegranate seeds.

Here's a picture of Sassy sleeping New Years day away:

January 2012

Resolutions never were a big deal to me really until 2011. I set manageable obtainable goals for myself and I've completed most of them successfully. Here are a few I'm sharing with you for this year:

Resolution #1. Write 1 1/2 pages in my journal every week.
Last year I wrote 1 full page and I just love looking back and reading everything, I thought this would be nice and maybe give more depth to my thoughts.

Resolution #2. Finish any/all unfinished art projects in my room.
I really need to do this and am planning to right away. I hate having unfinished stuff, especially pieces that have a lot of potential. so expect to see some high school work.

Resolution #3. Stay active and more personal on blogs.
I feel like people like personality from the blog they're following. Though I do want to stay somewhat professional because eventually I want an official website that's meant for my artwork.

Resolution #6. Get tongue pierced.
I know it doesn't seem like much of a goal but it's reachable and that's what's important about making goals. I've wanted mine pierced for over a year now and am planning on getting it done this spring or early summer.

Resolution#8. Draw and paint males!
I really really need to work on drawing guys. I think the reason why I draw more girls is because they're easier to incorporate into my style which is pretty feminine, I'm a girl myself and have been drawing girls forever, and girls are more curvy and organic where as guys are more angular. I don't know how to find that balance between curvy and feminine yet still masculine. most of the guys I try to draw turn out looking too feminine or too masculine.

Resolution #10. Create lots and lots of beautiful art, ideas, poetry, etc.
I just want to be very creative and try not to have an artists block this year, I get at least one every year and they're horrible. I want to think without limits and create beautiful pieces of art.

So those are some of my goals, I hope all of you set at least three small obtainable goals for yourselves. It makes you feel really good/accomplished when you look back at them at the end of the year.
